CTT About Winter Park, Colorado
Welcome to Colorado...Skiing in harmony with nature
Winter Park is the closest ski resort to Denver and is located directly across from the Continental Divide. This is a paradise for those who enjoy skiing in harmony with nature. You will find yourself marveling at the scenery at over 12,000 feet, far from the crowds. Offering something for all levels of skiers, both beginners and powder hounds will have a grerat time. The ski area is one of the largest in the USA and is comprised of three mountains interconnected by 19 chairlifts.

Mary Jane Don't let the name fool you ... she has some of the most difficult runs in Colorado. This beautiful, bumpy mountain was voted #1 in North America for bump skiing.

Winter Park There just isn't a mountain more inviting or varied than this. Winter Park offers something for everyone ... from gentle groomed cruisers to short and sweet mogul runs to challenging terrain parks and a half pipe. The award-winning $2 million learn-to-ski ski area, Discovery Park, is found here.

Parsenn Bowl starts pretty much at the top of the world and offers the kind of skiing you dream of ... filled with vast empty spaces, beautiful gladed tree runs, unreal powder, and the gorgeous opportunity for fresh tracks.

Vasquez Ridge gives you all the elbow room you need with breathtaking views. There is never a crowd and plenty of late day sun.

Vasquez Circle is the newest addition to the ski area. This backcountry adventure area is for experts only. You start by dropping off of a cornice into a 687-acre area (278 hectares), some of which has never been skied. This is the only section of the ski area that is not serviced by a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops.
The town of Winter Park
The town lies in a beautiful valley (9,000 feet) at the base of the Continental Divide. Winter Park is known as Colorado's favorite ski area due to its excellent snow -- snowfall average of 365 inches -- and its friendly town. This has made it a hit for families who find something for everyone -- snowmobiling, sleigh rides, snow shoeing, snowcat tours, ice skating, cross-country skiing, dog sled rides, and the tubing hill at night.
Ecology and wildlife

Characteristics include sagebrush, willows, aspen, and lodgepole pine trees at lower elevations; mosses, lichens, and pines above tree-line (ca. 11,500 feet).
